Canon 24-105 USM F4L Lens making creepy sound in DOF ring.

Hi There,

I recently bought Canon6D with 24-105 F4.0 USM Kit lens, First 3months it was working fine. 

Recently i observed kind of dust/sand/ scratcy sound while zooming in-out of DOF ring. I wonder i need to do a lens cleaning or is some technical creepy issue.

Any one has experienced creepy sound issue with this lens ? Appreciate the help !!

Sounds like an issue to me.  Nope, never heard similar on mine.  I would send it in.

You mention sand, as opposed to a more general term like dirt.  Were you using it in the sand?
