Best Lens Hood for 40 2.8 STM

Not in my opinion the one designed for this lens, a hood is made to stop flare not  just to say I´m a lens hood.

Planning to use the one designed for the 50 1.8 the Canon ES-62 , It might destroy the low profile but on

a APS-C Sensor Does what a lens hood is made for.

Any better option ?

In theory it could work, but I can't say from experience.  Is it the same size diameter and thread?  Only one way to find out I suppose.

Looks like you have plenty of options, and room on a crop without vignetting.

Yes I just did it, works great on my T4i, Does stop flare, Not vignetting, Go for it.

On a full frame shoud cause vignetting

You will find that any hood on this lens is going to vignet. Why because the angle of view from the lens is to great. Only a very narrow hood will work. The hood made for this lens will vignet.
