Apperture dial not working on EOS R5 Mark II when using Rf 24-105 f2.8 lens

When I connect my RF 24-105mm f/2.8 to my R5 Mark II, the aperture dial is not functioning. The aperture can only be adjusted using the control ring on the 24-105mm, not the dial. Other RF lenses work perfectly with the dial control. However, when I use the same RF 24-105mm lens on the R6, it works perfectly. Are there any special settings I need to adjust for the RF 24-105mm f/2.8 on the R5 Mark II? This issue is very frustrating, and I couldn't find any information in the manual. Can someone please provide me a solution?

Greetings,

Which "dial" are you referring to.  Main Dial, Quick Control Dial?  What shooting mode are you in?

Is it possible you have the Control Ring programmed for Aperture?

The 24-105mm F/2.8 has a dedicated aperture ring. If the aperture ring is not set to the A position. The camera cannot control the aperture.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I see the 'A' on my lens ( apperture ring), but I’m not sure why I’m unable to set it to 'A'. Do I need to do something specific? My lens only goes up to 22. However, when I use this lens with my old R5 and R6, it works perfectly. Can you please help me figure out how to set it to 'A'? Is there anything in the camera settings I need to adju

Does the aperture ring turn at all. If it does turn it to the A position. The R5 Mark II & R1 are the only cameras that can make full use of the aperture ring. Other cameras can only make use of the aperture ring in video mode only.

Did you check the aperture ring lock switch. RF 24-105mm F/2.8L IS USM Z lens manual

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’m referring to the quick dial next to the set button. I’ve also customized it and changed the aperture control to dial 1, which was originally for ISO. However, it still doesn't work. When I use the 28-70mm or 85mm lenses, the control dial works perfectly. I’ve also used the same RF 24-105mm f/2.8 on my old R5, and it worked fine there. The issue only occurs with the new R5 Mark II, where the control dial doesn’t work to adjust the aperture. It only works through the lens aperture ring, which is really frustrating. I am using in manual mode. I tried in Av too. It's same problem .
