support code 5100 on mx922 print head does not move

Hi Canon community,

My 922 started to throw support code 5100. I went throught the "remove paper jam" process and there was no jammed paper. I wanted to reseat ink cartidges per troubleshooting direction but the print head assembly does not move. It appears to be locked into the parked position to the far right right. I tried to gently pull it out both while powered off and while in self-test and no joy. Any suggestions? It's pretty new (<12 months) with little use so I'd rather not replace it just yet.

Thx!

Hi jimkleewein,

If the Ink carriage is not moving, the printer will require service.  If the printer is still under warranty, the unit can be repaired or replaced free of charge.  I regret any inconvenience.
