"Assistance code 7700" in Canon Pixma TS5352

I've had this printer for 3 years, it's being sitting on the same spot since.

I never had any issues with it until a couple days ago when out of the blue it said "assistance code 7700, turn off the printer and contact service center".

Checked what the error was, tried the steps.

• Took out and checked the cartridges: nothing
• Pull out and unplug the power unit to reset: nothing
• Checked for any paper that could be jammed or stuck: nothing

Everything looks good and clean. So what is it? How can I fix the assistance code 7700?

Has anybody fixed this error and can share?
