I am having many issues trying to get the printed photo have the same colors as the screen on my Dell Laptop. Anyone have solved this in the past?

OK, for now, I'll just live with whatever results I get. The basic issue that needs to be addressed by you, Canon, and the photo editiing apps is this:
Make it clear in all your programs and drivers who is in charge. Is it the Printer, the Application, or the Monitor setting?
For example, Photoshop Elements 11 will give a warning to turn off the printer driver or to turn it on. I cannot find a similar place in the printer driver that clearly says the driver is either on or off.
For what it is worth, I have found that using the graphic setting on the monitor display setting helped.
My system is:
Macmini, recently purchased new, Mountain Lion
LG IPS236 monitor
Canon MG6120 printer
Photoshop Elements 11
Aperture 3.3
Again, there needs to be a better way to tell who is in charge of what between the printer, the app, the monitor.
Thanks for the help and patience.
