iP7250 flashing orange-white-orange-white-orange-white. What does this mean?

When I start up my Pixma iP7250 it makes various noises it shouldn't be making and then the lights flash orange-white-orange-white-orange-white, with the last white flash being prolonged. What does this tell me about why my printer is not working?
