Hello jsalpeter.
Before storing the printer, please be sure to power the printer off using the power button on the unit. This will secure the ink cartridges and scanning element for transport and storage.
Also, store the unit within temperatures of 5C to 35C (41F to 95F) to ensure proper functionality as well.
