g6020 printer wont print with magenta 1/4 full

Is it really true that the printer will not even print b/w only if one of the color tanks is 1/4 full?  Effectively this means that one gets only 3/4 tank use (at maximum) when one of the tanks reaches 1/4 full.  Is there any workaround?

When printing is not as expected, please follow all of the steps provided on this page from the PIXMA G6020's manual:

G6020 > Maintenance > Print Results Are Unsatisfactory > Maintenance Procedure

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA G6020 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support. A Technical Support Representative can determine the cause of the issue and resolve it or provide you with your available service options.
