Just fired up my new Pixma 8120 and don't understand the display window flap raising and lowering. At this juncture, I haven't figured out why it rises and what action would allow that window to return to verticle (closed).
Following my initial 'test' print, that flap opened to horizontal and there it remains. Once it rises so that the window display is horizontal, is that where it stays?

Hi powepair,
Once the panel is in horizontal that is the position it will stay in while printing. When you are done printing, you will need to manually close the operation panel. When you go to close the panel, you may notice a little resistance about half way down and that is normal. The resistance is normal and you can keep pushing the operation panel close.
