TS 3320 Pixma showing nearly empty black ink after only a few pages

I got a Pixma TS 3320 in late November and after the last time I printed, the black ink light turned on.  Checking the app shows the cartidge almost empty.  I've only printed a few pages (probably 20-30), which seems a bit rediculous to be out of ink already.  Is this typical of what I can expect?  Or do I perhaps have a defective printer?
