Printer won't use black ink

Hi - my printer has a full black ink cartridge, recently replaced, but it prints as if it doesn't have any black ink - so it's using the other colours to try and print black, which is incredibly wasteful and means what is grey turns out as an oragey colour.

I'm reluctant to have to ditch the printer if that's all that's wrong with it.

PS it's a Canon TS6060

Support portal for the TS6060.  Note, you will not get support from Canon USA for your product which was purchases in another country.

Start with a print nozzle check and head cleaning.

Yup, did that. No fix.
