My MX922 just quit working recently and despite my best efforts had to replace it. I bought another Canon (Pixma TR8520) thinking I could use the stock of cartridges I had on hand for the 922. I removed the cartridges from the 922 which still had plenty of ink left, and inserted them into the new printer but they weren't recognized. Is there any way around this as I have about $150 worth of new cartridges bought for the 922? Thanks

Hello!
So that the the Community can help you better, we will need to know which ink tanks you're trying to use with your new printer.
For reference, THESE are the tanks that are compatible with the PIXMA TR8520. If the ink tanks you're trying to use aren't listed on that page, they will not work, as they're incompatible.

Hey Stephen, Thanks for the reply>
The 922 uses CLI 251, the TR 8520 uses CLI 281. I realize the numbers are similiar but different, but the cartridges look the same and snap into place like they belong there. Just for informations sake, I used to get my 922 cartridges refilled locally and the printer didn't recongnize them either, I had to get them "re-programmed".
