hi guys,
was hoping someone would have some tips here as to whether I can 'revive' this printer.
in brief, everything was working until (and I have no idea what triggered this) it would simply not print anymore (and was definetely not connected to any Win11 updates as these are turned off). I have tried from both a PC with LAN, Wifi and USB access and a laptop with Wifi. next step was to remove the printer from Win11.
Each time I install the drivers (using the ones downloaded from the Canon website) the printer is not detected (and of course following the instructions re keeping service button pressed until power button blinks x times etc).
the printer:
- turns on and off when I press the power button
- does the blinking whenever I keep the service button pressed
- as part of the above, if I keep the service button pressed for the power button to blink 6 times, it pulls through a page and does as if it's printing but just an empty page comes out
- has a full supply of ink
I have tried a hard reset (power light blinking 15 times), making sure printer is on LAN (power light blinking 11 times) and as mentioned tried the printing of network settings (power light blinking 6 times).
as mentioned, i have tried connecting through the ethernet port, through USB (with ethernet disconnected), through Wifi. I can see that the light (at the other end of the ethernet cable that comes from the printer and goes to my switch) at my switch, where the ethernet cable from the printer is connected, is lit (one orange light at the ethernet port). I.e. the printer is alive, turns on/off, blinks, but is simply invisible to the PC.
any ideas how I can solve this?
