Pixma iP7220 Lines across print

Using my printer for photos and thse dark lines are apprearing horzontally every half inch across my print. The printer is brand new, it seems to be worse on my luster inkpress paper. how do i make this go away?

1.  What operating system is on your computer (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or version of Mac OS X)?

2.  What program are you printing the photos from?

3.  Does the same issue occur when printing on plain paper?
