Pixma MG2950 problem

I am having problems printing out a "Pattern check" to see if the nozzles need cleaning.

I clicked on "Troubleshooting". 

"Print Head Cleaning" pop up appeared. I clicked on "execute". Another pop up appeared that said "do not start another operation until the cleaning has finished". I clicked "ok".

Another pop up appeared "Nozzle check". I clicked "print pattern". I waited.

Another pop up appeared "do not start another operation until the current one has finished"

I clicked "ok". I waited.

Then the  "Pattern check" pop up appeared.

I clicked "exit".

Yet again, nothing happened.

Any ideas where I am going wrong please?
