Pixma G6020 No Longer Prints in Black

tempeashers

This printer was working great until a couple days ago when the black started to fade, and now it doesn't print black at all.  I've tried all the cleaning and deep cleaning steps and nothing works.  Please help!

Hi tempeashers,

Performing a system cleaning should resolve this issue. To do this, please follow these steps:

 1.  Please press the wrench and screwdriver button on your G6020

 2.  Repeatedly press the right arrow button to select Maintenance and press the OK

 3.  Press the right arrow button to select Ink Flush and then press the OK button

 4.  Choose All Colors, Color or BK and press OK

 5.  Check the displayed message and press OK button

 6.  Select Yes and then press OK button

 7.  Select Yes and then press OK button

This procesdure is also covered in the manual:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G6000%20series/EN/NTR/ntr_h_01.html

Once complete, please attempt to print.

My G6020 printer power key is flashing and the yellow triangle is flashing, too. The screen says "See manual" and will not allow me to press the wrench button. What do I do?

I figured out how to follow your directions but now I have the message that it "Cannot perform system cleaning try again after refilling the ink tanks." The tank is full--about 1/4" below the dot. Please help! I need to complete a project!

Did you get this issue resolved? The same thing has happened to me and I am getting the same error when trying to perform the ink flush

No, it did not resolve for me. The only way I can print black is to change the paper to High-Resolution paper. This is very disappointing and I will NEVER buy Canon again.

I ran the cleaning function, followed by a deep cleaning, and then the black ink came back. I don't print often, not sure if that's the reason but for now this fix is helping

U need to print EVERYDAY to prevent this issue and WASTING YOUR INK

I am having the same trouble. The only way to get the black to print is to do a deep clean and then it only works for about 2 pages. Is there any way to correct this?
