PIXMA TS9500 Printer Registration and Support

Manyroses

I received this printer as a Christmas gift, therefore, I do not have the receipt, I do not know the exact purchase date nor do I know where it was purchased.  I think your website for registering a product needs to be set up for customers who receive items as a gift, most people would not have that information, which I do not.  Furthermore, I think it is a bit greedy for a prestigious company like yours would charge for just about everything, calling in for advice, really, that is way too much.  Everyone in the entire country is struggling, yet you charge for just about every single thing.

Hello!

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know more information.

What exact model printer are you using (usually on the top or front of the unit)?
Do you see any error messages?
Which Computer Operating System are you using (Windows 7/8/10/11 or macOS 10/11/12)?
How do you connect to your printer (USB or WiFi)?
Any other details you'd like to give will only help the Community better understand your issue.

If you're in the United States, and this is an urgent support need, please click HERE to visit your My Canon Account to discover your personalized support options. When you register, you don't need the exact date or proof of purchase. These are only required if your unit requires repair or replacement.

If you're outside the USA, please click HERE to find support options in your country.
Thanks and have a great day!

The printer I am referring to is:

PIXMA TS9521C WH              Serial #AFJP[xxxxx]

I followed the directions which took me to the page asking for purchasing information which I do not have since this was a gift.  Your website is confusing for registering a product that was a gift.

@ManyRoses,

Regardless of how you acquired the device, new printers do come with a 1 yr warranty.  In order to receive warranty, proof or purchase would be required.  The same way you would need a receipt to return or get service for an item anywhere.

Registration is free.  For convenience, canon also allows you to upload your receipt during the registration process.  No matter where you go, you need proof or purchase in order to establish the warranty period.  Apple wants proof of purchase, so does Microsoft.  Canon is no different.  Warranty is there to protect you as a consumer, but the warranty period is not indefinite.

If you would like assistance with something, we are happy to try and help.  If you need service, you need to be able to prove when your product was purchased.  Even if its a gift, etc.  This is your responsibility, not the manufacturer.  I'm sorry if this isn't the answer you were hoping for.
