PIXMA TS6420a refuses to connect to my computer

I have followed every troubleshooting guide multiple times and have been at this for about 2 hours now. I moved over a year ago and got new wifi and everything and the printer worked fine. Just recently I went to use it again but it won't connect to my computer. One form of troubleshooting says it's confused because it used to be on a different network, but when I try to start over and set it up again like a new printer it still won't connect. I'm at a total loss, I don't know what to do.

Greetings,

Please tell us about your wireless network and hardware.  What is the brand and model of your router, mesh system, etc?

Is this equipment issued by your ISP, or something you purchased?  How is it configured?  Do you have a dedicated 2.4 GHz broadcast that uses WPA2 encryption?

Sorry for all the questions but we need to have a basic understanding of your setup to help you troubleshoot.

Router comes from Verizon which is our ISP. I unfortunately don’t know the model number. I don’t know much about how it’s configured but it does have the correct broadcast with encryption, and my printer connects to it, but it keeps getting confused like it’s on a new network even though it’s been the same one for the past year and a half.

Greetings,

I'm not clear what you mean by, "it gets confused?"  Please login to the router's admin portal. Review the list of attached devices and confirm the printer is connected to its wireless and has an assigned IP address.

Once this is verified, remove the printer from your computer and uninstall its driver. Now restart the system.  Visit the link below to download the installation utility.  Select downloads, a type of operating system, and the version.  This perform a fresh install of the device with the latest drivers.

Drivers for your printer are available at the link below.
