PIXMA TS5151 says ink is low despite cartridge replacement

I have a TS5151 printer and have just changed the ink cartridges (both b/w and colour), which the printer recognised because it popped up a message. However, it has not updated the ink level display and keeps displaying the message "Printer is low on ink".  How can this be fixed, please?
