Hi SelinaB,
What version of Windows is installed on your computer?
If you are using a Mac, what version of the macOS is installed?
What program on your computer are you using to scan?
Are you using the IJ Scan Utility?
After scanning your pages and saving them as PDF on your computer, when you double click that PDF and view it on your computer screen, the text is doubled/ghosted, is that correct?
Or do you see the double letters after printing the PDF?

Windows 11 is installed on my computer.
Yes, I'm using the IJ Scan Utility.
After scanning your pages and saving them as PDF on your computer, when you double click that PDF and view it on your computer screen, the text is doubled/ghosted, is that correct? Yes - this is correct. When I print the PDF, the text is NOT doubled and there is no ghosting.
Yesterday, I was on the phone with Canon support for 2.5 hours and they were unable to resolve the problem. The concern is I'm needing to scan legal documents and send the PDF as an attachment.
Thank you for your assistance

Hi SelinaB,
Please try these steps:
1. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper on the rear tray of your TS3122.
2. After loading paper on the rear tray, the Paper status and the current paper size flash on the LCD. Press the Paper Select button to select "A4" or "LTR", and press the OK button.
3. Pull out the paper output tray and the output tray extension.
4. Repeatedly press the wrench and screwdriver button until "1" appears on your TS3122's display.
5. Press the BLACK Start button 1 time. A test page will print.
6. Once printed, please place that printout face down on the scan glass of your TS3122.
7. Press the COLOR Start button 1 time.
Your TS3122 will copy that page.
Does that copy look like the original?
If the copy looks like the original, then we know the scanner is working correcfly.

Hello,
I followed the steps you outlined in your response. The copy DOES look like the original, so per your note, the scanner should be working. However, I continue to have issues with the PDF version of the scanned document looking blurry. Since my printer/scanner was a 2024 Christmas gift and my family no longer has the receipt, I'm unable to utilize warranty services. I checked prices through the Canon's Upgrade Program and have decided to purchase a different scanner.
Thank you,
Selina

Hi SelinaB,
If you still would like to try to resolve the scanning issue, please follow the steps below:
1. Open the IJ Scan Utility.
2. Click the Settings button in the lower right corner of the IJ Scan Utility.
3. Click on Document Scan on the left side.
4. Click the [+] next to Image Processing Settings.
5. Place a check next to Correct slanted text document.
6. Click OK and OK again.
Attempt to scan.
There is another Image Processing Setting that you can try as well. Uncheck Correct slanted text document and then place the check next to Detect the orientation of text document and rotate image and then attempt to scan. You may also try with both enabled.
