PIXMA TR8620a cannot scan double sided documents into a single PDF

I recently purchased the PIXMA TR8620A printer/scanner function.  This scanner has a feeder but is not able to scan double sided documents.  I used to be able to do this when I first purchased the printer but know it does not work.  When scanning manually I get the screen as displayed on the attached picture.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA TR8620a and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support.
