PIXMA TR8620 How to print from cassette by default

bhamdodger

I have a TR8620 printer. I have the paper source set to cassette. But once in a while I will print some labels from the rear tray. After that it tries to print everything from the rear tray. So have go into the settings and change it back to cassette. Is there any way I can make the cassette the default paper source?

Hi bhamdodger,

To have the cassette of your PIXMA TR8620 the default, you may set the rear tray setting to a paper other than Letter and Plain paper.

When you attempt to print on plain paper which is letter size, because  the rear feed is set to a different size and type, the printer, by default, will print from the cassette.

To perform this, please follow these step:

1.  Turn your PIXMA TR8620 on.

2.  Tap the gear icon at the bottom of your printer's display.

3.  Tap Feed settings.

4.  Tap Rear tray paper settings.

5.  Tap Change.

6.  Select KG/4"x6"(10x15) from the list.

7.  Select Matte.

8.  Tap Yes.

Once set, when you attempt to print with letter sized plain paper, the printer will use the cassette to feed paper.

The sheets for the labels I print from the rear tray aren't 4" x 6". They are 8.5" x 11". (Avery 48863)

No.
