PIXMA TR4720 Driver Installation Failure

I have been using a Canon PIXMA TR4720 printer/scanner combo happily for two years with no major issues. Last week, out of the blue, the Canon disappeared from my list of available printers, and my computer said "Driver unavailable." I re-ran the Master Setup utility from Canon's website, and it got to "Installing: MP drivers" before saying "Installation Failure." I have used both the comprehensive setup, re-installing the printer as if it were new, as well as the standalone Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer.

I have already checked that the printer is on and connected to the Wi-Fi. The installation tool recognizes the printer and successfully connects to it. I have already tried restarting the computer and uninstalling the previous version of the drivers.

I am using Windows 10 64-bit with an Intel processor which, as mentioned, has already been working with this printer for two years. I mention this because other customers on this forum had an issue after upgrading to Windows 11 with an ARM processor, and this is NOT my situation.

Have you tried to go to device manager in windows to fully uninstall the previous driver before attempting to reinstall drivers?

That worked, thank you!

For anyone who finds this forum post later, I had previously only uninstalled the printer and scanner through Add or Remove Programs. This time I went into the Device Manager and uninstalled everything related to the TR4700 series (they were under multiple headings), restarted my computer for good measure, and then successfully ran the driver install utility.
