Hi mcgoughk,
What program are you using to scan with your PIXMA MX922?
To select a part of your image to be scanned, the scanner driver (ScanGear) can be used.
To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Open the IJ Scan Utility.
2. Click on the ScanGear button.
3. When ScanGear appears, please click on the Advanced Mode tab.
4. Click on the Thumbnails button in the upper left hand corner to turn off thumbnail view.
5. Click Preview.
6. Click and drag to select the portion of the image that you wish to scan and save.
7. Click the Scan button.
