PIXMA MX870 & Monterey

This is a two-part question.
1) I have an MX870 and currently running IOS Mojave. I plan to upgrade to Monterey, but am afraid the printer will not work. Is anyone using the MX870 successfully with Monterey?
2) The printer works fine, but I frequently get a warning that the ink absorber is almost full. So far, I can bypass the message and continue to print. Has anyone else experienced this and how long did your printer continue to work with a full ink absorber?

Hi LauriS,

The PIXMA MX870 is not supported with macOS v12 Monterey.

The ink absorber message will appear when that part is over saturated with ink.  If this message continues to appear, your PIXMA MX870 will eventually require service.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
