PIXMA MP490 says paper jam and there is no paper jam anywhere

worked fine last night...then got the paper jam alert and after doinf some maintenence...then it printed 5 pages fine...now paper jamb alert again and no matter what will not take paper into printer

 

installed latest driver

 

please help

Greetings,

In these cases, We usually recommed powering off the device and unplugging from the wall.  Then open the case and inspect all paper feeding mechanisms, trays, etc for jams.  Jams can be hidden, corner of a page, etc hiding under a roller, etc.

 

Ensure the trays are not over loaded (more paper) that the tray is rated for is loaded.  Then reconnect to power and power on again.

 

Sometimes jam errors can be caused by forcibly removing a stuck page.  These are harder to diagnose and may require service.
