PIXMA MG5522 Printer talking to PC

I have an MG5522 printer/scan/copy 5 years old. I try to scan and send to my PC and come to where it asks for a PC SETTING, the only choice showing is (Local USB) and the scan will not transfer. I have had the same issues with this printer using a different Laptop. Any idea? Thank you.

What version of Windows is installed on your computer?  If you are using a Mac, what version of OS X is installed?
