PIXMA G7020 - suddenly tries to print from rear tray instead of cassette

Lizky

I have a Canon G7020 inkjet printer that I have used for a year or so.  Yesterday, when I tried to print a document from my PC, it suddenly started pulling paper from the rear tray rather than the cassette.  I have always had the printing preferences set to "automatically select."  I have regular 8.5x11 paper in the cassette, which is where it usually draws paper when I print.  I have envelopes in the rear tray, and when I print an envelope, it automatically prints from that tray.  I have no idea why it has suddenly stopped printing from the cassette.  I have gone into the Printing Preferences in the app on my computer and chosen "cassette" but it still won't print from the cassette.  I have updated the printer drivers on my computer, and updated the firmware on the printer.  I don't know what else to do.  This is incredibly frustrating.  Can someone help?

Hi Lizky,

Please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below to log into your My Canon account:

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA G7020 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support. A Technical Support Representative will assist you with resolving the paper issue you are experiencing.

Thanks for your suggestion.  The printer seems to have healed itself.  I had if off for a few days.  I even unplugged it.  When I turned it back on, it printed from the correct place - the cassette.  So strange.
