PIXMA G7020 printer repeatedly keeps turning on and off about every 10 seconds.

My printer automatically turns itself off, and about 10 seconds later it will turn itself back on. It repeatedly keeps doing this.  I've tried unplugging it for a day and then re-plugging it. When I plugged it back in after about 10 sends it automatically start itself. Stays on about 10 seconds and then turns itself off. Then about 10 seconds later turns back on. It wont stay on long enough to even get into the menu. Not sure what to do. Thank you

What to do is.....Call Canon Support right now. There's something seriously wrong with the printer.

If your PIXMA G7020 is repeatedly turning on and off every 10 seconds, it's likely stuck in a "power cycle loop."

The first thing to try is a Hard Reset:

  1. Turn the printer off (if possible) and unplug the power cord from the back.

  2. Unplug the other end from the wall and wait at least 2 full minutes to allow the internal capacitors to discharge.

  3. Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet, bypassing any power strips or surge protectors, as these can sometimes cause voltage drops.

If the printer continues to cycle after this, there may be an internal hardware issue or a firmware error that requires a professional look.
