Upon original 5200 error message, I followed the manual and attempted to clean and flush the black cartridge which was not printing. Last recommendation was to replace the print cartridge which I did. However, the error still appears and will no longer allow me to go into Maintenance mode or any other actions for that matter.
It's been a good printer for several years. This is the first issue I've had but the ink reservoirs are full and now I'm out $75 for the cartridge heads. Any suggestions to get past the error code?
I guess the new cartridge heads could be bad is another option. Here is what I ordered which say they are G7020 compatible.

Same problem. Error code 5200 and cannot do anything as the printer will not let me get past the error code screen, so I can't access the maintenance menu to do a flush or any other remedies. Kind of a ridiculous circle jerk. Please advise on how to get past this 5200 error screen.

5200 after cleaning INK Cartridge Head
Next day I turned off the power by pressing "On". Then opened it up as if to replace ink cartridge, and sprayed "Fast Drying Electrical Contact Cleaner" everywhere! Then left it for an hour or so.
BECAUSE:
1- I didn't believe AI: It will not work unless it has a color cartridge in it, and that is why it is overheating; which is why it throws the 5200 error.
Really? After over a decade using it with no problems and no color ink, and going along with AI for HOURS of miscommunicating resulting in all kinds of set backs wrong answers and frustration, I couldn't believe AI.
2- I cannot believe(literally) Canon community said if the specific reset sequence does not work, It is time buy a new printer. That sounds like something from the Canon Corporation instead of the Canon community that is here to help people like me or so I thought.
3- It is Sinfully Selfish, Lazy and Evil to:
A-continue making plastic and
B- continue purchasing plastic and
C- live On this place the universe with a 1950s throwaway mentality.
It is Not about the money, it is about the principal.

1.
a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning.
2.
a general scientific theorem or law that has numerous special applications across a wide field.
I am not a Canon "product expert" like the people who give "solutions" at Canon Community> Discussions & Help> Printer . where everyone with the 52 error was advised: " If the specific reset sequence does not work then it's time to buy a new computer". The second and 3rd "product expert solution" I read from there advised
"If the error does not clear after the reset, the printer will need service." and "If the printer is out of warranty, you qualify for the Canon Upgrade Program....to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002"
Again: That sounds like something from the Canon Corporation instead of the Canon community that is here to help people like me or so I thought.
Oh yeah I almost forgot to tell you: my printer is working like new again after I sprayed it with Tuner cleaner as the last resort.
