PIXMA G6020 - will only print in red or pink ink.

Hello,

I realize it's a Sunday.  I am wondering why my Canon PIXMA will only print in red or pink ink.  All of the ink colors are full.  Even if I click print in black and white on the printer it will only print in red ink.

Thanks

Well, you don't say what printer you have, so I'll just educate you....

Your printer has Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow inks, and black. I emphasize Magenta because that might be what you're calling Pink, which it isn't.

Red is produced by superimposing Magenta and Yellow. So it is using these two colors.  Some Pixmas use all four colors when printing Black. So your problem is it is not using Cyan and Black to print blacks as it should.

You could have clogged nozzles on your printer. Try doing some maintenance test prints, nozzle cleaning prints, and deep-cleaning prints, to see if you can get Cyan and Black inks flowing.
