Greetings,

Are you using Windows or Mac OS?

Drivers and software are available here:

https://www.csai.canon.com/support/p/pixma-mx490

For wireless connections, please see this KB article.

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART100499

If connecting to wireless, one thing many people miss is putting the printer into wireless setup mode.

The printer supports 2.4Ghz wireless that uses WPA2 encryption.  Please ensure your network meets this requirement.

If connecting to USB, please install the software first and connect the printer when prompted.

Hang in there—Canon printers can be tricky at first, but there’s usually a straightforward fix. Try installing the correct driver for your exact model from Canon’s official website, then connect via USB or Wi-Fi and set it as your default printer. For printing from the internet, open the page, press Ctrl+P (or Command+P on Mac), and select the Canon printer. If you're still stuck, feel free to share the model number—someone here might be able to walk you through it!
