My Canon E400 printer will print on Microsoft Word but not on Excel format. What's the problem?

My friend has given me his Canon Pixma E400 printer. I just installed it thru downloaded driver. It will print on Microsoft word but on Excel format. What's the problem?

As far as I know the link http://www.canon.co.in/business/web/contact is good for Canon India only.
