Mg7720 will NOT print to CD's, this is why I bought it, it will not WORK! Can anybody help?

Just bought a Pixma mg7720 to replace my EPSON printers to print on CD's.  Find out that no matter what I do, it will not let me print on a cd.  Totally frustrated.   I am using a brand new iMac running Seirra 10.12.1,   I have called Canon 3 times now and NOBODY can help me.  I have downloaded the drivers several times and My Image Garden and Easy-PhotoPrint EX several times and have even tried making my own template from Indesign and NOTHING works, it will not let me even select the cd tray,  well, with the InDesign program it will let me pic Cd Tray J but it doesn't matter because when I send the image it tells me to close that tray up and it prints it on paper.   I am totally frustrated and ready to throw this printer out the window or atleast send it back.  All I want to do is print on a cd and it has to be this difficult and even the Tech's at CANON can't even tell me WHY?  I guess I could keep calling til I find someone who knows what they are doing but so far I haven't found that person.

ANY HELP would be appreciated.

Hello.

What occurs when you attempt to print from the Easy-PhotoPrint program.  If any errors occur, document them exactly as they appear.

I wish I'd seen this when I was looking for a printer for DVD printing. I would NEVER have purchased this printer. Two years later and this is still the issue with printing directly to DVD/CD.

I bought this MG7720 for the sole purpose of printing onto DVDs/CDs, and I do not see that a solution has been given for this. Now I have to look for yet another printer to PURCHASE. Very unhappy and pretty much planning on donating this printer to another person because I have NO use for it otherwise.

Thanks and have a great day!

I use a third party software to design the CD face. It shows the correct J tray and when I send to print, it says support code 2112, and says "The size or type of the paper loaded in cassette 2 is different from the print settings." I hit okay and it says Check whether the paper that matches the following print settings is loaded. Page size: Others, Type: plain paper. When I push for it to print then the support code changes to Support Code: 1851 Close the guide and tape okay.

It won't allow me to print on CD at all. So I went to image garden and tried to print from there using my cover design as a picture. It sends Support Code: 1872 and still insists on printing from paper even though CD is selected under preset.
