I just got my Maxify GX5020 a couple weeks ago. I chose this tank printer with the intent to mass print colorful stationery to make at home. When I print a batch, I'm printing 50 sheets at a time. I'm also printing via wifi as I don't have a printer cable right now.
I notice that the colors print a bit dull so I've been trying to make color adjustments to get the print to match the colors I want. I've been printing from Adobe Acrobat with these settings
I'll use Color/Intensity Manual Adjustment to change the CMY sliders along with the brightness and contrast. I also make sure the color correction is set to 'Driver Matching' under the 'Matching' tab.
When I first printed the color adjustments were applicable and I was able to mess around with a couple test prints until I got my desired print outcomes. The following time I printed for a specific design with the color adjustments set, my printer just print the default, dull colors.
I took a break for a couple days and decided to try again with a different design. The first print was dull as I expected. I made a second print of a single page with my color adjustments. To my surprise, the colors actually turned out how I wanted. I thought - sweet, let's batch print it now! I made the exact same settings but set to print 50 pages instead of 1. The first page of the batch print went back to the default colors again 😐 I tried a few more times after by printing single sheets at a time and I just kept getting the same dull colors again. The lighting isn't the best but the image below is the results
What gives!?!? I've been doing research for days just to figure out how to get this printer to print consistently but it seems like nothing works. I want to say letting the printer sit for a couple days in-between let it print with the color adjustments but that could have been a coincidence. I've tried resetting (powering on and off) the printer and still no changes.
Any ideas and input would be greatly appreciated. I just want my colors to be accurate and consistent 😞
