MX882 scanner driver malfunction

Canon MX882 scanner stopped working.

Error message on screen (Scanner driver not installed properly.

I reinstalled driver (same error message)

Then removed program and reinstalled from disk (Same error message)

Then downloaded updated driver (Same error message)

Help!

Hello paulm.

This error may be caused by any previously installed scanners.  If you have any scanning devices that are no longer used, please remove them from the computer to see if this may resolve the error.
