Recently, whenever my laptop boots up, it displays the error message 'Scan to computer is currently unavailable'. and am unable to scan from the printer or laptop. The printer is less than a year old and all the features used to function. The operating system is Windows 7 and the printer is connected over a wireless home network. . How can I correct this problem?

Hi dmtfuentes,
You will want to ensure that the IJ Network Scanner Selector EX is running on your computer so that you can scan wirelessly. To do this, from the START MENU on your computer, select ALL PROGRAMS, then CANON UTILITIES, then IJ NETWORK SCANNER SELECTOR EX (folder), then IJ NETWORK SCANNER SELECTOR EX (program).
If you are still unable to scan once the IJ Network Scanner Selector is running, resetting your network may help. To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord, then turn off your computer.
2. Unplug your wireless router for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
3. Wait 5 minutes, then plug the printer back in, and turn it and the computer back on.
Please attempt to scan again. If you still experience difficulty, we ask that you please contact a Canon technical support representative here for further assistance. A representative will be happy to assist you free of charge.
