I purchased two color ink cartridges by mistake. I only needed one. I called Canon and got a return authorization code and when my husband brought it to the postal store they said it was $18 to mail it back. My husband brought it back home and said it wasn’t worth the postage to send it back. Is this Canon’s way of making sure people don’t make returns for refunds. The box was never opened and I fear if I keep two one will dry out before it use it since this is my summer home and won’t be back until next June.

I just mailed 5 phones and a tablet USPS Ground and it was under $14.  With a Sig required it was under $20.  Maybe look at the shipping method.

Also, why are you blaming Canon for a purchase mistake you made?  They are taking the items back.  Canon does not set shipping fees imposed by a carrier.  I think it's fair that you accept accountability for your purchase mistake.   🤔

The postal service as bad as they are these days is still one of the least expensive carriers in comparison to UPS, FedEx and others.
