I860 printer ink cartridge

I have a older i860 color printer.    To print only in black and white, do I need to replace all the cartridges our just the two black ones which are BCI-6Bk and BCI-3eBk?   I'm not sure if the printer requires all cartridges to be present and working to be able to print in just black and white.

All of the ink tanks must be installed and contain ink in order to use your i860 printer.
