Hello pamg73.

Please try the following to try and resolve the error:

1.  With the cover of the printer open, unplug the power from the back of the printer or the wall.

2.  Look for any loose objects or packing material in the printer, clear if necessary.

3.  Check to make sure that the ink tanks are all seated securely.  If you meet resistance with the ink tank holder, do not attempt to move the ink tank holder any further.

Hello.

I am having a C610 error on my Canon Pixma MX870.  I have tried doing the "on off thing" with the resume button.  Done it at least 25 times.  (I am persistent.)  There doesn't appear to be anything stuck anywhere that I can see, even with a flashlight.  I have turned it over and shook it.  Nothing comes out or rattles.  We just changed the ink cartridges and they all fit just fine.   Can you please help?  Thank you.

Hello luckydogs.

This error may occur if one of the ink tanks was not seated properly or when there is a loose object stuck inside the printer.  Please try the following:

1.  With the cover of the printer open, unplug the power from the back of the printer or the wall.

2.  Look for any loose objects or packing material in the printer, clear if necessary.

3.  Try gently moving the ink tank holder as close to you as possible.  Try pushing the closest ink tank down.  Once clicked into place, try moving the ink tank holder closer, repeat as needed.  If you meet resistance, do not attempt to move the ink tank holder any further.
