How do I get the MX892 printer to use the large black ink cartridge?

I have the MX892. I can't figure out how to get it to use the large black ink cartridge. Hence, the small black cartridge runs out often since all I print is black and white. Any ideas? Thanks, KB

Hello lkb1958.

Setting the unit to Grayscale mode may help use the large black tank and conserve the smaller dye based inks. 

Also, check to make sure that your media type is set to plain, letter sized paper and that automatic duplex printing is not enabled.

What worked for me was I had to goto Paper size - click US Letter then go over and click borderless
