Default printer PIXMA MX 410 won't print. No obstruction problem/internet connectivity problem. Y?

I desperately need help with this asap......I cant figure out how to make my default printer work. What could I be doing wrong? Why is there no one @ Canon who can provide technical support after normal working hours?
