Canon mg 8120 not printing anything after head change

I just installed a new print head in my mg8120 I did a clean cycle & ran an automatic head alignment. Nothing is going on the paper. There is ink on the bottom of the print head though. The printer is also saying the absorbsiti

Absorption pad is almost full

11+ year old printer.  This model was officially retired in 2016. 

You can attempt to clean / replace the ink absorber pad yourself, and then attempt to reset the counter...  search google for canon reset tool.

My advice though.  Buy a new printer.
