Thank you Derrick. I kept running into walls with people telling me that nobody repairs printers just buy a new one and move on so that was what I have done. I was not able to find anywhere a competent repair place. It was not the most expensive printer but it did everything I needed and worked fine until, all of a sudden, it did not work at all. I have been called a sucker for punishment as I opted for another Canon (Maxify GX2020) as a replacement.
