Canon Pixma MG 3550 won't start up

A_Dude

When I plug in my printer the 4x6 photo paper light lights up and if I press the power button the light next to it lights up as well. However, there's no other reaction at all. The rest of the lights don't come on, the cartridges don't slide out (making them fairly inaccessible) and neither my roommates nor I can connect to the printer in any way.

I've already attempted unplugging it entirely and removing the power-supply unit before reassembling it, but nothing changed. I also tried holding the stop or the power button for a few seconds to dismiss any possible error messages, but again to no avail. Any ideas that might help?

Hi A_Dude.

From your description of steps you've taken and symptoms presented by the printer.  From your information, the MG3550 will need to be replaced.  In the case that the printer is still within warranty period, you may find your local branch of Canon using the map on the Canon Global website: http://global.canon/en/support/  They'll also be able to help you with any available out-of-warranty options that may be available.
