Windows 8.1. Thanks!

Hi scallyman,

You can set your PIXMA MX472 as the default printer in the Devices and Printers window to ensure that it is where your print requests are sent.  To do this, please follow these steps:

1. From your Windows Start screen, click the magnifying glass in the upper right corner.

2. In the Search pane that appears, please ensure that "Everywhere" is selected above the text box, then type "devices" and select the DEVICES AND PRINTERS option when it appears.

3. Locate the icon for the PIXMA MX472 series Printer, then right-click over it and select the SET AS DEFAULT PRINTER option.  If an arrow appears to the right of the Set as default printer option, select the printer again (not the fax).  When you do, a green checkmark shoud appear over the printer icon in the Devices and Printers window.

4.  Close out of the Devices and Printers window and attempt to print again.  Please note that you may need to close out of the application that you were printing from initially and then go back into it for the printer to show as the default printer in that application.

Hope this helps!
