i have a Paper Jam error code even after removing the paper i have tried unplugging the  unit leaving it sit for hours with no power cord but i still get the same error code what can i do to fix it

Hi Pflugman_1967,

Please follow the steps on the page below to clear paper jams in your PIXMA MP495:

Once complete, please clean the encoder:

Once both are complete, if the error persists, your PIXMA MP495 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

Thanks for the advice Patrick but i fixed the problem myself thanks to youtube videos i couldn't wait on this webpages and your company's slow reply im not in need a of a new printer this one is just fine i just wish i could have talked to a person instead of rely on this webpage which really explains nothing  and what i mean by that is i confronted the manual for my model of printer and did exactly what it said and at the end of all of the given procedures it tells me to call the canon 800 number for a fix then the automated number sends me here to access the manual and its the same as my manual i have on file  with no newer solutions to m,y problem I HATE BEING JERKED AROUND so your company needs to step it up becase there are solutions to fix wityhout replacing or repairing this problem
