Canon Mega Tank PIXMA G620

Last November I purchased a Canon Mega Tank G620 printer. The purchase was to replace my Canon PIXMA 8220 after seeing a message that the ink abrasion was full and the impression that it could not be repaired. I use the printer in conjunction with my Mac desktop to print documrents and correspondence, scan and copy documents, photos and articles and print photos. I liked the 8220 as it did everything I needed quickly and efficiently although the photo quality was just fair. I feel that I made a serious mistake in buying the G620. It is slow especially with photos where a 4x6 color print can take up to 5 minutes. It is very noisy. It requires changing the paper whereas the 8220 held both letter and photo paper. It does not print two sides, The message screen is small and difficult to read. I am inclined to get rid of it but don't know what to replace it with. I have always had good results with Canon quality and service but not this time.

I suggest you look at the Pixma TS6520, it is not a mega tank printer, it uses cartridges that include built in print heads. The printer has its own led display, It does quick printing borderless photos up to 8x10 and auto duplex printing,  (both sides of the paper) It does not allow dual loading of paper, like 8x10 paper and envelopes at the same time, hard to find one of those now. It feeds from the front but no slide out tray to deal with. It is inexpensive, currently 40 percent off from either Canon Global or Amazon (they sell it and ship it themselves, very important for support). I have a similar Canon printer,  with no display, the Pixma MG3620.  Ninety percent of my printing is 8x10 glossy photos. they come out looking very good.

Thank you! I appreciate the suggestion. That you like the photos is a big plus as that often seems to be a weak point.
