Every time I go to scan!
1. Set the printer to remote scanner
2. Open MF Toolbox and hit PDF scan and wait for the MF Scan to show " program not responding "
3. Control Alt Delete.
4. Restart computer, printer computer printer computer printer printer printer computer or something along those lines until by some miracle of baby jesus the **bleep** machine actually scans!!!
Is there something I can do to make this work a little easier so I dont chuck the printer out the window and get something different??
Running Windows 8.1 Version 6.3 and the latest of Canon software off the site. Hooked straight USB to printer.

Hi klundin70!
I know this issue is frustrating and I will be glad to assist you.
I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and software. Please follow the instructions below:
1. Press the Windows key and 'x'.
2. Select 'Control Panel'.
3. Select Devices and Printers. The Devices and Printers window opens.
4. In the Devices and Printers window, right click on the MF8000 Series and select 'Remove' to delete the printer. Delete all of the icons for the MF8050Cn.
5. Close the Devices and Printers window then press the Windows key and 'x'.
6. Select 'Control Panel'.
7. Select 'Programs and Features'.
8. Double click on driver to uninstall. Follow the on screen prompts. Repeat to uninstall the MF Tool box.
9. Restart you computer.
Once your computer restarts, please follow these steps to download and install the drivers and the MF Toolbox from Canon's web site:
1. Visit our web site at: http://www.usa.canon.com
2. After clicking SUPPORT & DRIVERS in the top right corner, select your model in the following manner:

13. Double click the [MF8050Cn_MFDrivers_W64_us_EN_2.exe] files to decompress them. A new folder will be created on the Desktop. The new folder has the same name as the decompressed file. Double-click the decompressed Setup.exe file to start installation.
14. Installation will complete.
Wait a few minutes then scan a document using the MF Toolbox. We recommend running the program as an adminstrator. Please follow the steps below:
1. Open the Windows desktop.
2. Right click on the MF Toolbox icon and click properties.
3. Click the Compatibility tab, then click "Change settings for all users".
4. Put a check next to "Run this program as an administrator", then click Apply and OK.
5. Click OK again on the properties screen.
The MF Toolbox should scan normally.

So I did that intall twice now and it's still a hit and miss. It takes about 10 minutes now to scan a document between the on off on off on off of the devices before they sync which is better than the 20 minutes before.
Im thinking of filming a remake of the printer scene from the movie office space!
